The political action movie Godfather was produced and directed by Mohan Raja in 2022 in India. Salman Khan, Nayanthara, Satya Dev, Chiranjeevi, and others star in the movie. R. B. Choudary and N. V. Prasad are in charge of producing it under the Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films labels. It is a remake of the Lucifer movie from Malayalam in 2019. A respected chief minister passes away, leading to a power struggle to select his replacement and a game of cat and mouse between politicians as they strive to outwit one another.
Beginning in August 2021, principal photography began in Mumbai, Ooty, and Hyderabad. Nirav Shah handled the cinematography, and Thaman S wrote the soundtrack. Production
In April 2020, the Telugu version of the 2019 Malayalam movie Lucifer was announced, starring Chiranjeevi (played by Mohanlal in Lucifer). Sujeeth, who had already begun writing the script for the Telugu adaptation, was chosen to lead the film.Due to artistic disputes, Sujeeth opted out of the project in September 2020. Later, V. V. Vinayak was asked to take his place. [6] After a 20-year absence, Mohan Raja was reinstated as the film's director in December 2020. His only Telugu movie up till that point was Hanuman Junction (2001). The movie was formally introduced in Hyderabad in January 2021 after a customary pooja ritual.
Filming
Principal photography for the movie started on August 13, 2021. [20] Hyderabad served as the location for the movie's initial schedule. [21] The second schedule of the movie commenced in Ooty in September 2021. [22] Chiranjeevi underwent surgery on his right hand in October, which was followed by 15-day bed rest. As a result, filming was put on hold. He continued filming in Hyderabad in November 2021. the actor was forced to stay in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 in January 2022. After that, Nayanthara joined the cast and a few essential scenes that weren't starring him were shot. After making a full recovery, Chiranjeevi returned to the sets in February. Salman Khan finished recording his scenes in March 2022 over the course of a week at the ND Studios in Karjat, Mumbai.
